Hertfordshire’s Under 15 Girls start the clear the rust in their first outing of the season but it’s not enough to defeat Cambridgeshire.

After choosing to bowl first Hertfordshire showed all the traits of a side having their first outing of the year with a few fumbles in the field and some wayward bowling. Despite this Cambridgeshire found it hard to score freely on an erratic pitch with wickets from Jenna, Poppy, Chloe and Alice stopping Cambridgeshire hitting the accelerator. A marvellous 43* from Cams Lulu, the real linchpin of their innings as she guided them to a very competitive 113 from their 20 overs.

In reply, Herts never really got going as they found it hard to score on the tricky pitch. Holly and Poppy had a useful little partnership with the former taking the long levers to Cams spin attack.

A defeat of 42 runs in game 1 for Hertfordshire, on to game 2!
